Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Staff consistently impress — The staff category sits at 9.4, the hotel's highest public score. Guests repeatedly single out helpful arrival support, clear maps, evening service and a welcoming tone; one solo traveller said she felt safe and well looked after.
  • Location near transport, away from noise — Repubblica metro is described as right beside the hotel, Termini is a quick walk, and the opera house and shopping streets are close. Several guests note that the street itself is calm enough for a good night's sleep.
  • Rooms overdeliver for the price — With a Rooms score of 8.8, reviewers call the rooms spacious, modern and spotless – not the typical compact city-room experience. Air conditioning, comfortable beds and blackout shutters come up repeatedly, and the Suite Spa Bath adds a bathtub and coffee machine.
  • Strong value for a city stay — The Value score is 8.4, and several guests say the hotel met or exceeded expectations on a limited budget, helped by free Wi-Fi and a central position. Prices start from £117.

Worth weighing

3 to weigh
  • Facilities are the weakest point — The Facilities score is 6.3, well below the rest of the profile. The lift is described as old and tiny – roughly one person plus two suitcases – and the hotel itself is a small guest house rather than a full-service property.
  • Stated check-in window ends at 20:00 — The published check-in time is 14:00 to 20:00, which can be awkward for late flights or evening arrivals. Check-out, meanwhile, runs from 08:00 to 11:00.
  • No parking or pets on site — There is no hotel parking – one guest found a locked garage next door, but it is not part of the property – and pets are not allowed. The hotel is also entirely no-smoking.

“The location in Repubblica was ideal, just minutes from the metro, and the staff were excellent – helpful from start to finish.”

8.5Verified guest

“Comfortable and conveniently located, reasonably close to Rome's opera house. The room had air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and a comfortable bed, plus a large bathroom with a bidet, and the staff were extremely helpful.”

“After a seven-hour drive that included a two-hour traffic jam, a diversion because of a closed motorway and an hour spent lost, we arrived at 9.30pm tired, stressed, cranky and hungry. The man at reception could not have been more helpful. He quickly explained how the hotel works – it is two floors of a secure townhouse, shared with two or three other hotels – marked up a city map with the main landmarks and the best routes, and talked us through breakfast. The lift is old and only fits one person plus two suitcases, so he carried my case up the stairs and showed us to the White room. Rooms on the first floor have letter names; those on the second floor are named after colours. The White room was fabulous. Breakfast was cold food but plentiful and delicious, Wi-Fi was free with excellent coverage, and the location is excellent – everything is within easy walking distance, yet the hotel is far enough off the main streets to be quiet. There is no hotel parking, but a garage next door is locked overnight and reasonably priced, for Rome anyway. All staff were friendly and spoke very good English.”

“Outstanding room with modern furniture, a jacuzzi and two single beds. The staff were amazing and did everything for us.”

8.5Verified guest

“The room was very cosy, the bed and bathroom were lovely, everyone was accommodating, and internet was available.”

“As a woman travelling alone, I felt safe and well looked after; the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.”
